Shopify pulls Trump campaign supplies and Trump personal brand stores
According to TechCrunch, the Shopify platform once opened a Trump campaign-related supplies page (Shop.DonaldJTrump.com) and the outgoing president’s personal brand TrumpStore (TrumpStore.com), according to the page, the two stores have been was removed.
In a statement provided to TechCrunch, a spokesperson for Shopify said that based on recent events, Shopify determined that President Donald J. Trump’s actions violated the Shopify Platform’s Acceptable Use Policy, which prohibits promotion or endorsement of threats. Or an organization, platform, or person who condone violence to advance a cause. As a result, Shopify terminated stores associated with President Trump.
In addition to Shopify removing Trump-related stores from its platform, payment processing company PayPal also closed an account that raised money for Trump supporters traveling to Washington, D.C.
Previously, Twitter froze Trump’s account for 12 hours and forcibly deleted offending tweets. In addition, Zuckerberg has publicly stated that the risks of allowing Trump to continue to use Facebook services during this period are simply too great.
